About Danie Pienaar
The author was born in Southern Rhodesia, where his father was a tobacco farmer. His parents moved to the Strand in 1955 where Danie has been living ever since. Throughout his life he has been passionate about the Strand and its people. This book will show his intense involvement in many of the aspects of the Strand and its people. After qualifying as a professional architect Danie first studied at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, then obtained his B.Hons in Journalism, also at Stellenbosch. He wrote articles for the Drive Out outdoor magazine, BuiteBurger and MotorBurger and was part of the establishment of the successful GO magazine. He also had his own column, “Danie sê”, in Landbouweekblad.
