In scent of places, the poet describes two modes of travel – geographical and spiritual. The journey begins in Southern Africa, continues in Britain and Europe, and then ends again in Africa. Fellow travellers, landscapes, cities and works of art form the multifaceted and colourful ingredients of her poetry. The poems are, in fact, diary entries of a pilgrim through life. The reader travels along and is enriched by the experience, emerging from it with a broadened perspective. – Daniel Hugo
