Maretha van der Westhuysen

Maretha van der Westhuysen from George grew up in a house full of books. Reading, imagining stories, and telling stories have always been part of her life … stories that this former teacher loved sharing with her learners, three children, and five grandchildren. After the publication of two short-story collections, Deur haar venster (2021) and Skakerings van kort (2023), a children’s book was next on her to-do list. Maretha is a valued member of the Klein Karoo Writers’ Forum and has won several writing competitions.
